While maintaining the shape of a regular tie, this design allows you to choose different patterns for the center seam and tip of the tie. By shifting the tip of the tie slightly at the knot, you can enjoy accenting the color scheme.

Sword tip three-wrap

+¥5,500-

This is a traditional style seen in the 1940s and 1950s. The tip of the blade and the tip of the short blade are triple-wrapped by hand, and no lining is used. The interlining is cut so that it cannot be seen from the back of the tip, allowing the back of the fabric to be seen. This style is particularly suitable for traditional designs such as regimental blades.

The origin and history of the necktie

The prototype of the necktie is said to have been created around the 17th century. One popular theory is that it originated from the scarves worn around the necks of Croatian soldiers who visited France to protect Louis XIII. The soldiers wore scarves given to them by their wives or girlfriends as a gift for their safe return. When Louis XIV saw this and showed interest, he asked his aide, "What is that?" The aide replied, "It's a cravat," pointing to a Croatian soldier, and so the scarf is said to have come to be called the cravat.

On the other hand, there is also a theory that the word "cravate" was already in use in France in the 14th century. Around 1660, the cravat was a simple wide neckerchief worn around the neck. Even today, there are traces of the French word for necktie being "cravate." In the 18th century, the style of wrapping a piece of cloth around the neck became popular as military attire, and was established as standard men's formal attire until around World War I.

FAQ

About the total length of the tie

A tie can stretch 2-3cm even when tied just once. If you wear a tie daily, it may have stretched 5-6cm since purchase, so care must be taken when determining the total length. Commercially available ties are usually around 140cm-145cm.

How to maintain your tie

Storage method

When storing your tie in the case, fold it with the right side outward. Folding it inwards will make wrinkles more visible.

It is best to avoid storing it in a roll and hang it upright.

Removing fuzz

Silk ties are susceptible to friction, and fuzzing can occur in areas that are subject to friction, such as the tip. You can remove fuzzing by lightly heating the tie with a gas lighter. (Oil lighters cannot be used.)

Treating stringiness

In designs with scattered patterns or polka dots, threads may come loose. If this happens, carefully cut them off with thread scissors.

cleaning

Dry cleaning is not recommended. The silk and wool interlinings have different shrinkage rates, which may result in a poor finish. Light stains can be removed by patting with gauze soaked in benzine.

For severe stains or dirt, please consult a specialist and ask them to remove the stain.

Repair service

We can also repair or re-tailor ties that have been used for many years. If you are experiencing problems such as worn tips or loss of shape, please feel free to contact us.
