From SCYE BASICS, the new tapered wide-silhouette baggy jeans make a long-awaited return.
This pair masterfully blends the charm of classic selvedge denim with a modern silhouette.

Commitment to Material and Fabric

The warp yarn uses a No. 7 uneven yarn blended with San Joaquin cotton and Australian cotton,
while the weft yarn uses a No. 6 straight yarn.
Woven on an old-fashioned shuttle loom, this red-ear selvedge denim boasts a rich texture and develops beautiful aging characteristics with wear.

Sewing and Details

For stitching, a U.S.-made Union Special sewing machine, which is no longer in production, is used.
By using several types of cotton thread with different counts and colors for each section,
the threads naturally shrink with the fabric's shrinkage, designed to create the characteristic twists and fades unique to selvedge denim.
This exemplifies SCYE's meticulous craftsmanship, showing a deep understanding of vintage denim.

Silhouette

While the waist area is slightly fitted,
it features a wide silhouette with a strong taper from the very wide thigh to the hem.
With a deep rise, a major appeal is that the look can be changed by adjusting the wearing position, such as high-waisted or low-slung.

Finish

As it's been one-washed, it's ready to wear immediately after purchase.
