A half-zip hoodie that combines the sophisticated pattern work characteristic of SCYE BASICS with the functional essence of a sweatshirt.
At first glance, it looks like a basic sweatshirt. However, the three-dimensional silhouette felt when wearing it, the ease of movement, and the meticulously considered construction all reflect the unique craftsmanship of SCYE.
The outer fabric is made of a moderately thick cotton jersey, while the reverse side features a brushed fleece with slightly more weight than the spring/summer model. With its soft texture and warmth, it is a reliable piece for daily wear in autumn and winter.
Its greatest feature is its beautifully constructed, three-dimensional form, despite being a sweatshirt.
The pattern design, created by SCYE pattern cutter Hideaki Miyahara, adopts a modified pivot sleeve that integrates the bodice and sleeves while acting as a gusset. By incorporating the concept of a "freedom sleeve," it ensures a natural range of motion that does not restrict the shoulders or arms.
Furthermore, it is constructed using four-needle flatseamers. By finishing the seam allowances flat, the design reduces stress during wear while also ensuring durability. A hallmark SCYE detail is the intentional exposure of the inner stitching on the outside, treating the sewing process itself as a design element.
The hood is designed to be compact and the fit can be adjusted with a drawcord. The half-zip allows for adjustments to the neckline, making it versatile for layering with inner garments.
A classic kangaroo pocket is placed on the front, with a subtle SCYE logo print added to the chest.
Available in two colors: Loam Amber and Black.
It pairs well with shirts or turtlenecks for an elegant look, or with wide pants, chinos, or denim for a relaxed style. It can also be enjoyed as a set when combined with matching sweatpants.
